Find Your Ground in Reflection — Sincerely Volume 5

When it came time to create Volume 5 we couldn’t help but celebrate what letter writing is to us, a reflective practice that enables us to re-connect with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

Just before we sent this volume to print, we came across David Whyte’s writing on Ground. Here is an excerpt:

Ground is what lies beneath our feet…
It is the living, underlying foundation that tells us what we are,
where we are, what season we are in…
to come to ground is to…find the support and foundation
that has been underneath our feet all along:
a place to step onto, a place on which to stand
and a place from which to step.

The last two lines are what we experience as the result of letter writing, by reflecting and sharing our thoughts in writing we find a place on which to stand, a place from which to step.

As 2019 comes to a close we would like nothing more than to give you a practice that helps you find a place from which to step. You will find that place in gratitude, in movement, in observation, in list making, and in sharing.

Part of the fun of the subscription is not telling you exactly what you get, but providing hints. Our inspiration came from:
